INSPIRATION

I am in constant awe of the resilience and strength of our community—the stories of Filipino immigrants, the sacrifices of our families, and the rich cultural heritage we carry. I am driven by a desire to honor those roots while creating space for Filipinos to be seen, heard, and valued in all aspects of American life. I'm inspired by the vision of a future where Filipino voices help shape the narrative, not just exist on the margins.

MISSION STATEMENT

To honor my Filipino heritage by amplifying our voices, advocating for representation, and building a future where Filipino Americans are seen, heard, and empowered for my own kids and for generations to come.

Being Filipino in America means carrying the strength of our history, the warmth of our people, and the responsibility to make our voices heard. It’s about honoring our roots while fighting for visibility and belonging in a multicultural society that often overlooks us.

As a first-generation Filipino American, I don’t believe our voices are heard enough in American media, politics, or education, but it is getting louder and broader every day. Despite being one of the largest Asian American communities, we’re often invisible—our stories sidelined, our leaders overlooked, and our history erased from textbooks. True representation means more than being seen; it means being heard, valued, and given the power to shape the narrative through mediums like FILIPINOTOWN Magazine.
