Cooking with my Lola on weekends, helping her with catering, is a memory I’ll always hold close. From prepping ingredients to plating dishes, those moments were more than just learning to cook—they were about bonding, listening to her stories, and feeling like I was part of something bigger than myself.
Filipino culture shows up in the way I cook, the way I connect with people, and the values I carry—respect, hospitality, and hard work. Whether it’s speaking Tagalog with family, sharing a home-cooked meal, or showing care through acts of service, I feel grounded in my roots every day.
